Information about your

We will meet every day at 10:00 a.m. at the kite station in Curon. The course will be based entirely on the wind conditions. If there will be enough wind, we will practice on land or in the water with the kite. Otherwise, we will to a theory unit tailored to you and answer all your questions.

In general, we’ll try to make the kite course very practical. We recommend to getting your VDWS license during the course, which confirms your current kite level and is recognized worlwide.

Our kite spot Lake Resia

Why is the region Passo Resia so suitable for kiting in summer and in winter? Nestled in the mountains, the wind accelerates in exactly the right place. We kite with north wind, which usually starts early in the morning, or with south wind, which slowly builds up around midday.

The refreshing [ALT]summer[ALT]

The refreshing summer

Between mid-May and the end of September you will find us at the station of the Adrenalina Kitesurf Club in Curon. In addition to our kite school you will find a bar with a comfortable sun terrace, toilets and warm showers.

If you are a beginner, we will do the first exercises on the kite meadow and then accompany you in the water with our boat. If you already have some experience, we would be happy to support you with your next goals, such as riding upwind, soft kite handling or foiling.

The enchanting [ALT]winter[ALT]

The enchanting winter

Our snowkite season usually starts in mid/late December with the first snow and ends in March. In winter we not only kite on the frozen Lake Resia, but depending on the wind and snow conditions also on the near Lake Haider and on the surrounding meadows.

If you are looking for an easy introduction to kite sports, then we recommend completing your first course in winter. It's much easier to get riding on the snow. Afterwards you already have a good kite control, so you can concentrate better on the water and waves in summer.

That’s what you’ll get

Frequently asked [ALT]questions[ALT]

Frequently asked questions

Our students often have similar questions about the course at Lake Resia. You may also find helpful answers here – if not, please feel free to contact us directly.

Where and when do we meet?

In summer we’ll meet at the kite station in Curon, in winter we will let you know the exact meeting point a few days before the course, depending on snow conditions. Courses always start at 10:00 a.m.

What do I need to bring with me to the course?

In summer you will need swimwear, a towel, sunglasses and sunscreen; in winter helmet, skis or snowboard and boots as well as sunscreen. We’ll provide all the kite equipment we’ll need for the course, which is already included in the course price.

Which course package should I book as a beginner?

In order to learn the basics well and achieve great success, we recommend the intensive course of twelve hours.

What is the VDWS license?

The VDWS license proves that you have the necessary knowledge and skills to practice kite sports safely. It must be proven at some kite spots in order to be allowed to kite there and to rent equipment.

During the course, we will document your current driving skills (practical part) and check your specialist knowledge (theory part). Your license will finally be registered online and will be recognized worldwide.

Do you kite with skis or a snowboard in winter?

Basically, it makes no difference whether you kite with skis or a snowboard. We recommend the sport that you already practice and that you feel more confident with.

Do I have to be great at skiing or snowboarding to learn snowkiting?

No. You don't have to be a ski or snowboard professional to learn snowkiting. It is enough if you know the basics and have a little experience.

What will we do if there is no wind or bad weather?

If we can't practice on the kite, we will use the time for theoretical knowledge, answer your questions and complete the VDWS license exam. If we have already done all of this, the course will be postponed until the next day.

What if I still have open lessons after the course?

If there are still hours open after the booked course days, they will be credited to you and you can redeem them at any time.
